Duties
- To free up your supervisor to work on higher level sales activity for MTX.
- Serves as primary inside sales contact for assigned customer accounts. Responsible for growing relationships within these accounts and for penetrating all sales opportunities.
- Obtain in depth knowledge of each customer account, learning about customer's applications, problems and people. Identify opportunities and threats within these accounts and develop appropriate strategies.
- Make customer and potential customer contacts, via phone and e-mail. Takes inbound phone calls or e-mails from new potential customers. Refers customers to MTX engineering and other MTX resources, as needed.
- Coordinates MTX resources to support accounts effort. Coordinates the planning for customer contacts and to optimize the time spent in contact with them.
- Works with all MTX representatives, salespeople, engineering and management personnel towards new accounts. Looks for leads, contacts and any opportunity to find new customers.
- Thoroughly understands and provides input on the MTX pricing strategy. Works with MTX management to make and track deviations.
- Maintains organized files on each customer and potential customer. Defines needed communication from MTX personnel, and keeps MTX personnel informed. Maintains key customers information, including contacts, market, financial strength, products, competitors and affiliates.
- Works to clearly present our points of value and differentiating factors. Assures customers have our latest sales literature.
- Works in close harmony with everyone in MTX sales avoid redundancies or voids in dealing with customers. Sets strategies for mid-sales and next sales to assigned accounts.
- Manages and provides support to their associated sales representatives. Work with MTX management on expanding represented areas. Works with MTX office on representative reports and monthly payments.
- Updates the Monthly Sales Volume Pro forma for assigned accounts.
- Learns the sales and order processing aspects of MTX database. Inputs customer and order information in conjunction with MTX customer service.
- Studies our marketplace, our competition, and our targeted customer's marketplace and competition. Learns from the customers, MTX experts, trade journals and show, the Internet, and other sources. Develops and maintains a competitor database.
- Works closely with MTX engineering to provide the best solutions to customer requirements.
